Topic: Not So Green Energy and It’s Unintended Impacts

What are the risks and uncertainties if we are to make a push away from fossil fuels?  We will explore what we know and don’t know across the supply chains that are essential to alternative energy projects and applications to provide essential intelligence for financial due diligence.

Speaker: Michelle Michot Foss, Ph.D.,
Fellow, Energy & Minerals, Center for Energy Studies, Baker Institute for Public Policy, Rice University

Dr. Michot Foss has nearly 40 years of experience in energy and environmental research, investment banking and consulting, including oil and gas/LNG, electric power and non-fuel minerals and mining.  She led research and technical assistance programs, including USAID and US Department of State supported implementation, in more than 20 countries.  She was Chief Energy Economist and Head of the Bureau of Economic Geology’s Center for Energy Economics at The University of Texas at Austin (retired); research director and assistant professor at University of Houston; director of research at Simmons & Company International and Rice Center.  Dr. Michot Foss remains an Executive Instructor for UT Austin McCombs School of Business and was an Exxon Mobil Instructor of Excellence.  She serves on: the Advisory Committee for the UTA Jackson School of Geosciences Energy & Earth Resources graduate program; the advisory boards for Haddington Ventures LLC and Energy Intelligence Group; and the CENTRA Technology Board of Experts.  She is past President, International Association for Energy Economics; past President, U.S. Association for Energy Economics; and USAEE Senior Fellow.  She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Houston; M.S. from Colorado School of Mines; and B.S. from University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Prospective Member Form
Prospective Members must be submitted via the form link. All forms must be submitted for approval by the membership committee by 5:00 pm on the Wednesday before the meeting. Once approved, FEI will register prospects and inform the member or sponsor contact that the prospect has been approved to attend. This is applicable to anyone bringing a prospective member.

CPE Credit is offered for the PD Session and the Dinner Presentation.  One (1) hour of CPE is offered for each program.  There is not pre-requisite preparation or experience required.
