Speaker: John England, Deloitte
 
 

John England is a senior oil and gas client service partner leading Deloitte’s relationships with some of its largest energy clients globally. He previously served as the U.S. Oil & Gas leader for Deloitte LLP across all businesses, including consulting, risk and financial advisory, audit, and tax services. He has led successful projects at some of the largest energy companies over his 29-year career.

Prior to taking over his industry leadership role, John led the energy trading and risk management practice for Deloitte where he helped organizations solve challenges related to business model, risk management, performance measurement, and related systems and processes. He started his career in audit and brings the added perspective of having led the audits of many large energy companies.

John is a frequent speaker on energy industry issues, as well as energy trading and risk management. He has been recently interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, CNBC, BNN, and Bloomberg Radio for his views on oil companies’ responses to the oil price downturn. He has appeared before boards, audit committees, and industry groups, including the American Petroleum Institute, American Gas Association, Edison Electric Institute, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants Energy Conference, and the National Association of Corporate Directors.

John serves on the National Petroleum Council as well as on the Board of Directors for the Southeast Texas chapter of the Alzheimer's Association and Northland Christian School.

A graduate of Stephen F. Austin University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, John is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas.

Jeff has served the insurance needs of capital providers and equity sponsors, leading insurance diligence efforts on thousands of transactions for the past 23 years. Prior to his role in Mergers & Acquisitions insurance services, he spent four years working with Randy Best of Best Associates, a Texas-based merchant bank, which provided invaluable experience for the services he now provides to clients. Today Jeff has a reputation in the financial community as a leader in serving the insurance needs of debt and equity providers specializing in enhancing investment outcomes through insurance diligence and aggressive placement of insurance products.

Gareth Gibson, KPMG - Accounting
Gareth has over 15 years of experience in leading and coordinating global and domestic transaction related engagements for private equity and corporate buyers in connection with mergers, acquisitions and dispositions. He has extensive international experience of working for buyers and sellers in corporate transactions and private equity transaction. Representative Clients include: The Sterling Group, Audax, Stone Point Capital, Tinicum Capital Partners, Lincolnshire Management, Inc., Duff and Phelps.

Scott Miller, Willkies, Farr & Gallagher - Law
Scott is a partner in the Corporate & Financial Services Department. He represents private equity firms and companies in a range of corporate, transactional and securities law matters. His representation of private equity sponsors involves acquisitions, divestitures and venture capital investments across a broad range of industries including manufacturing, distribution and energy. He advises clients on entity formation and dissolution, corporate governance matters, mergers and other business combinations, asset and stock purchases and sales, private placements, restructurings, joint ventures and strategic alliances, employment arrangements and other commercial business transactions.

Scott Winship, Gulfstar Investment Bank - Investment Banking
Scott brings over 23 years of experience advising clients in the consumer products and information technology industries. He has successfully closed more than 75 transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $20 billion across a broad range of public and private market equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions and strategic advisory assignments. Previously, Scott was a managing director at 6Pacific Partners in Los Angeles where he advised clients in the food, beverage and branded consumer products industries. Prior to that, Scott led the packaged food and beverage group at BMO Capital Markets in Chicago and held senior positions in the technology industry groups at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and at Cowen & Company in San Francisco.

Adam Wilhite, Lockton - Transactional Liability
Adam oversees the placement of transactional risk insurance policies used on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) such as representation and warranty insurance (RWI), tax liability, environmental, etc. . An attorney by trade, Adam has managed a significant amount of Asia-USA transactions, including the placement of a large number of RWI policies on behalf of Asia buyers of US companies.

Prospective Member Form
Prospective Members must be submitted via the form link. All forms must be submitted for approval by the membership committee by 5:00 pm on the Wednesday before the meeting. Once approved, FEI will register prospects and inform the member or sponsor contact that the prospect has been approved to attend. This is applicable to anyone bringing a prospective member.

CPE Credit is offered for the PD Session and the Dinner Presentation.  One (1) hour of CPE is offered for each program.  There is not pre-requisite preparation or experience required.
