Jeronimo Cortina, PhD
Associate Professor, Department of Political Science
Associate Director, The Center for Mexican American Studies

Jeronimo Cortina is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and the Associate Director of the Center for Mexican American Studies.  He earned a PhD in Political Science from Columbia University where he previously earned a Master's degree in public Administration and Public Policy from the School of International and Public Affairs. Dr. Cortina specializes on Latino politics, survey research and immigration. His work has been published in scholarly and policy journals such as the Journal of Policy Studies, American Politics Research Journal, Foreign Affairs in Spanish, Harvard Journal of Hispanic Policy and Migration and Development. His books include “Red State, Blue State, Rich State, Poor State: Why Americans Vote the Way They Do” published by Princeton University Press, “A Quantitative Tour of the Social Sciences” published by Cambridge University Press and “New Perspectives on International Migration and Development” with Columbia University Press.

Mark Zilberman, Audit Partner

Mark is CPA and a Certified Fraud Examiner with 15 years of professional experience providing audit and accounting services. His experience includes audits of mid-size public and private enterprises in the upstream energy space. Mark’s background also includes assisting both public and private clients with a variety of significant transactions, including public and private offerings of common and preferred stock, and private placements of debt and equity. He has substantial experience with registration statements on Forms S-1, S-3, S-4 and S-8, in addition to reviews of quarterly and annual filings on Forms 10-Q and 10-K, respectively. Mark has substantial experience with integrated audits for small, mid-size and large public exploration and production companies.

In addition to his E&P experience, Mark has also developed a focus in the manufacturing and distribution, oilfield service, and construction industries. In addition to his experience with mid-size companies, he also possesses audit experience with large public and private enterprises in the upstream energy space. He is a member of both the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Mark has been with MossAdams more than 10 years. Mark also recently spent 2 years as a Senior Audit Manager in the Houston’s energy practice of Deloitte & Touche.

Billy Tilotta, Audit Partner

Billy has over 20 years of public accounting experience and is an Audit Partner in the Houston office of MossAdams. He provides audit and consulting services to both public and private companies in the oil field services and manufacturing/distribution industries, assisting them with due diligence services, consolidations, and private offerings, as well as mergers and acquisitions. 

Prior to joining Moss Adams in 2002, Billy was an Audit Manager with Arthur Andersen LLP. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA).

Prospective Member Form
Prospective Members must be submitted via the form link. All forms must be submitted for approval by the membership committee by 5:00 pm on the Wednesday before the meeting. Once approved, FEI will register prospects and inform the member or sponsor contact that the prospect has been approved to attend. This is applicable to anyone bringing a prospective member.

CPE Credit is offered for the PD Session and the Dinner Presentation.  One (1) hour of CPE is offered for each program.  There is not pre-requisite preparation or experience required.
