Dear Fellow FEI Members,
With all of the heart-breaking news about Harvey’s impact on so many, it is nice to share some good news. Your FEI Houston Board has reduced the membership fee by $100 from $250 to $150 effective July 1, 2017. We need to thank the increasing support from our sponsors and the continuous effort from your FEI Houston Board to achieve this reduction. In addition to the fee reduction, we are developing more events that members may attend free of charge with the goal of increasing value and engagement.
As you get your renewal notices, you will see that FEI National started combining the National and Houston Chapter dues into a single amount. Please know that the $100 membership fee reduction will be reflected in the combined amount. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Christine Bell, FEI’s Director of Member Services & Chapter Support at 973.765.1088.
For those who paid their membership renewal invoice with a membership renewal date on or after July 1, 2017, you will be contacted in the coming week to ask whether you want us to refund the $100 difference or to donate your refund to one of the following 501(c)(3) tax-deductible funds: United Way of Greater Houston Relief Fund or FEI Houston Scholarship Foundation.
We have some “not to be missed” opportunities on the horizon such as our Tuesday, September 19th Chapter dinner meeting featuring Clay Williams, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at National Oilwell Varco, who successfully moved from CFO to CEO. In addition, our Platinum sponsor for the meeting, Robert Half, is creating a very timely professional development panel discussion around the topic of how organizations can continue to execute their business in the face of traumatic disruptions such as Harvey.
We have other exciting keynote speakers and panels lined up for the year as well as special interest groups for energy and technology, leadership luncheon sessions, young leaders’ events, CFO University, happy hours and Top Golf offering new ways to connect with fellow financial executive peers.
We are also very excited that FEI National has selected Houston as the location for the FEI Financial Leadership Summit May 20th to the 22nd as we help shape the agenda and serve as the host Chapter.
Knowing that we are all impacted by Harvey, I hope you will find the time to join us as we pick up the pieces to find our new normal.
